Engraved upon the temple
in sterling solid stone
is a single startling phrase –
I am all alone.
Love is your best friend,
your worst enemy.
Your most prized possession,
your worst machination.
The worlds favorite painting,
the worlds worst defacement.
Love is the worst traitor,
the world has ever known.
Once you know what a prize you have
it slips from you and is gone.
How do you tell someone good-bye?
Is it a word, or even a sigh?
Is it a kiss or an embrace?
Do you tell them to their face?
Is it in the way you feel?
Or is it just a word.
What is love?
Is it an emotion
a state of mind?
Is it an act, a show?
Or is it more.
Life without love is empty,
you feel dead inside.
You can see people who are happy,
and you want to run and hide.
Life without love is pointless,
with no one to confide
all your joys and sorrows.
You live only to die.
THE SEARCH
I am a man,
I am a human being,
I am of the belief that
I am strong.
My goal is in sight,
My goal is clear,
My power is at the ready,
My power is belief.
You posses something,
You are my goal,
You are a paragon,
You make me weak.
I seek a goal,
My strength holds,
You are mine.
Once I was held by steel chains
in a dark room.
I cried all night
and slept till noon.
There was nothing in the room
but a caring heart.
I spit at it and turned away
tearing it apart.
Then one day it came to me
and freed me from my chains.
Opened the door for me to pass
out into the rain.
“The grass is always greener” they say,
now I know it’s true.
Now I long for those cold chains,
and that solitary room.
Moments of my life
I think of how I’d feel
Seeing you again
Saying good-bye.
I wouldn't be able to handle
Not seeing you again
Good-bye is not good at all
You know that is true
O what a world to make us wait
Until we meet again.
How will you know what time it is
When all of time is gone?
life is gone
before you know
how to truly live.
We hustle and we bustle all around’
Do you know where you are going?
we run and jump and dance all day,
How well you are trained.
we try and we fight and try again.
Why so persistent in your pursuit
When all you have to do is love.
END OF THE BEAST
The jaws are opening before me,
The beast tries to confuse me,
The demon opens his wings to me,
But my faith is strong!
HE helps my legs move ever faster,
I go through a gate, the beast cannot follow,
In happiness I linger ever after.
LONELY
Lonely nights I sit and wonder,
Why god, why o why,
Has my life turned out this way.
These lonely nights I sit and prey,
And I think of how to try,
To right the wrongs of my life.
An endless myriad of mistakes,
Leading up to the depression,
Of my lonely winter nights.
At a time when I was down,
You made a smile from my frown.
When I was infirm or slightly ill,
Your face was more cure than any pill.
Life is a road of endless forks
Waiting to be walked
Life is a hall of muted people
Wishing to talk
Life is a never-ending struggle
to go into the press
People all around you
But you still feel loneliness
Life is a cruelty
In every shape and way
But one look at the ones you love
Gives you strength to face the fray
YOU
I have seen through the looking glass
The cruelty held in there
I have seen naughty Eros
Dashing here and there
I have had a sweet melody
Played into my ear
But it matters not
for you are no longer there
ME
Falling, flying, flipping, fleeing,
Sinking, souring, slipping, seeing,
In the void left by you.
Walking, running, darting, bolting,
Trying to escape the emptiness I feel.
I remember your laugh,
Cry,
Scream,
Sigh,
The caress of your hand
That could make any worry right.
Now I sit alone at night
And wonder how you might feel
Had it been me.
THEM
I see them playing and I think,
"Boy, would that be fun,
To romp and run and sing and play,
Just like everyone."
But they all laugh and point and say,
"What, us accept you.
You’re not like everyone else
And that is just taboo."
So I go home and I sit,
In silent solitude.
Just me, myself, and I,
In a somber mood.
POWER
A man looks at the world he lives in,
A wondrous place indeed,
And wonders in his awe,
"What does it have to do with me?"
He is a normal man,
Frail, weak, and insecure,
Trying to show the world
That he is strong and firm,
He sees the wonder, awe and delight,
But also the plague, famine, and plight.
He thinks to himself, "I am only one man,"
But if all the one men
on this small planet would do
all that they can do,
They will see the power
Nestled in his own two hands.
god I wish she were here
that perfect of women.
I am not whole without hr
I am not a man.
Without her I am an abyss,
an empty shell,
a coward.
The world is a messed up place,
full of vice and greed.
The life of every man
is full of pent up need.
yet one soul of this world
is perfect in every way.
That soul is closed to me,
so now I must go and face the fray.
Life is an ocean
In which all of us swim.
The ocean is massive
And the number of swimmers
Is as massive as the space itself.
Finding someone special
Is difficult to the extreme.
And when you do find them
They are still looking.
Friends are there whenever you need a shoulder
to cry on.
Friends are there whenever you need someone to
rely on.
Friends are there because they need someone to
be a friend.
Friends are there because they are friends.
Friends are a thing which no treasure can compare.
None can be bought but through the gift of love.
Friends are there when you need them
Friend are there from the start.
Friends will help you and guide you,
With friends you can reach the stars!
